Safety

OpenAMRobot combines moving machinery, electrical power, batteries, embedded firmware, networks and autonomous software. Public source availability is not a declaration of safety, regulatory compliance or fitness for a particular deployment.

Minimum integration controls

  • perform a documented risk assessment for the complete configured system;
  • provide accessible emergency stopping and safe power isolation;
  • validate speed, force, payload, stability, braking and stopping distance;
  • control charging, battery, thermal, electrical and stored-energy hazards;
  • restrict network and operator access;
  • test communication loss, sensor failure, software crash and unexpected restart;
  • establish a controlled test area before autonomous operation; and
  • comply with applicable machinery, radio, electrical, battery, workplace and data-protection requirements.

Component-specific limits, wiring, configuration and warnings belong in the relevant repository and take priority over this overview. Security vulnerabilities must be reported privately under the Security Policy.

OpenAMRobot is experimental. Independent engineering validation and certification may be required before real-world deployment.
